Red Alert Detention

Red Alert has developed out of our Constructive Detention Program. This is for learners who are repeatedly in detention and are at risk for high level disciplinary action. The red alert program runs for three weeks, with only five to eight learnersin a session with two facilitators. These two facilitators take the learners through an in-depth analysis to indentify root causes of behavioural problems. They then walk the learners through an intensive program aimed at life-change.

Constructive Detention Program

The Constructive Detention Program is a project of 121@VMA to transform the high school detention program into a constructive, life-changing event in learners lives.

This is a program we offer primary and high schools as an alternative to detention. It seeks to make use of the detention period to impact and transform the lives of learners.

We use a variety of material, ranging from life skills to exploring the deeper questions in life. We focus on small group interaction, using a team of trained volunteers, allowing for maximum input into the learners lives.
